Vince Chang was inducted as President of the New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) during NYCLA’s annual meeting on May 27, 2021. When NYCLA was founded in 1908 it was the only bar association in New York that did not restrict membership on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender, or race. NYCLA currently has more than 8000 members and has historically been one of the most influential county bar associations in the country and at the forefront of most legal debates. As noted by one of its founders, Benno Lewinson, NYCLA is dedicated to "the cultivation of the science of jurisprudence; the promotion of reforms in the law; the facilitation of the administration of justice; the elevation of the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession; [and] the cherishing of the spirit of brotherhood among the members of the Association."
